Landavazo releases results of community survey

January 24, 2013

West Hollywood City Council candidate Christopher Landavazo yesterday released results from an opt-in online survey his campaign conducted to learn about the issues that are most important to the voters.

Launched on December 14, 2012, the survey was conducted until January 20 of this year.

Christopher Landavazo is running for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council.

The non-scientific survey relied on people to go to the Landavazo campaign web site, locate the survey inside the seven main sections listed (it was located inside the Blog section), find the posting (under the headline West Hollywood City Council Candidate Christopher Landavazo is Ready to Engage West Hollywood and to Change the Way We Connect) and follow another two links to complete the required eight questions, three optional questions, a comment box and provide their contact information for the campaign’s use.

A total of 37 people completed surveys in that 5 week period, 35 of whom were West Hollywood residents. The results of that survey follow:

Nearly 60 percent of the respondents were longtime (15 years or more) residents.

Going Green topped the list of most important issues, narrowly outranking term limits and civic engagement.

On the question of how responsive city government is to the people’s needs, 47.6 percent replied very responsive or responsive. Slightly over 28 percent called the city unresponsive or very unresponsive.

When asked to rank the statement – I feel my values are reflected in the leadership of our city, the answer scored 3.5 on a one-to-five point scale.
