West Hollywood, California (Monday, June 1, 2009) -Watch the medical/pharmaceutical/insurance vampire cartels do everything they can to stop you from having a public health care option that competes with private insurance and private medicine. Why? Because they know that if we run the two systems side-by-side people will universally choose a more humane government-sponsored public health care option over the bloated, pricey, inefficient private system we have now that costs so much that it allows over 40 percent of Americans to go without health insurance.
These are good people, our friends, our relatives, our loved ones and just about every type of person who isn’t well to do.
Free quality health care, to me, is simply a human right for all Americans, not to be toyed with for profit.
The current profit-driven medical system has proven itself to be a blood-sucking vampire. Let’s get rid of it!
While some doctors are getting more and more screwed by the current system as insurance pays them less and less, some doctors stand to lose a lot of money if this system comes into place.

God bless good doctors, the ones who became a doctor because they wanted to care for the sick. But some of the ones who thrive financially on the bloated system we have now need to be taken down a peg.
Drug companies stand to lose a lot of money if drugs are brought down to realistic prices. No more huge 100 to 1 profit margins in a humane health care system. The insurance system will have to change in a big way, too.
They do not want you to make them change and they will use every type of deception and ruse to keep the current cash cow system in place.
Consider, for instance, that Brazil gives medications to its public for low to no cost. If a new AIDS drug is created the government tries to negotiate with the company that owns the patent to buy it for a reasonable amount to give to its citizens.
If the company demands too much money, Brazil breaks the patent and makes its own version and gives it to its citizens. Basically, they tell the drug company to “Go to hell.”

When I went to Brazil and was told this by my friend there who is HIV-positive, I was blown away. It’s so foreign to the system I was raised in. The Brazilian government stands up for its people that way? Amazing.
Ours doesn’t? Even more amazing and disappointing, since we are the richest country in the world, why don’t we have a similar health care system that really takes care of its own?
But we don’t.
So I’m urging you to be part of the fight to take health care away from the big money medical/drug/insurance system vampires.
The best group I’ve seen working for this is Dr. Howard Dean’s organization. Please go to http://standwithdrdean.com and check it out, sign a petition and pass the word around.

We MUST make this change now. It’s a huge part of what’s been bankrupting our country. Get rid of the vampires. Bring some love and humanity into health care. Make it universally available for all Americans, regardless of their pocketbook, like Cuba, Canada, France and the UK do.
We can have the best healthcare system in the world again.
Only we, in the United States of America have far more money so we can do it even better than they do it.
Imagine what would happen if we took 100 billion dollars from the 400 billion dollar Pentagon budget and moved it to health care.
If you want to know more about how a humane health care system can take care of everyone for free, do yourself another favor and watch Michael Moore’s movie, Sicko, his best movie ever, and in my estimation, the movie that made Michael Moore one of the great American story tellers.
Mr. Mooney, age 56, has written for numerous publications about exercise, diet, and the progressive use of dietary supplements. He co-authored a book about complementary medical options, such as nutritional and hormonal intervention for people living with HIV, called Built To Survive; Michael donates all profits to non-profit HIV research.
