The victim, a 72-year old West Hollywood man, suffered contusions, cuts and broken ribs, according to Sgt. Kris Aloma, WeHo Sheriff Traffic Sergeant.
The collision took place around 11 o’clock in the morning while the UPS driver made a delivery.
Sgt Aloma said the driver stated that he had curbed his wheels, so how the truck broke loose remained a mystery.
“The truck broke away and rolled against the sidewalk on Clark,” Sgt. Aloma said, “and then crossed Sunset onto San Vicente where it hit the pedestrian and two cars.”
The truck rolled over, bringing it to a halt and leaving packages strewn on the road.

According to a witness, Anson Snyder, the driver looked distraught over the incident.
“Packages had spilled out of the truck and the driver didn't look very happy,” he said.
Sgt. Aloma told WeHo News, “The pedestrian will be fine, he’ll be OK.”
She added that she had little reason to think there would be charges filed against the driver.
“We never call them accidents,” she said, “but this collision was a tragic happenstance, a freak thing.”
