Street banners in English and Russian with images of local women who were diagnosed with breast cancer will hang throughout the City of West Hollywood during the month of October as a symbol of solidarity and hope.
In addition, The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the American Cancer Society will present a Breast Cancer Educational Forum on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Thalians Auditorium, 8730 Alden Drive in Los Angeles.
The Breast Cancer Educational Forum is a free panel discussion on the early detection of breast cancer, treatment and recovery.

Lunch will be provided. Admission is free; however, reservations are required.
Guest speakers at the Breast Cancer Educational Forum will include Rachel Beller, MS, RD, Beller Nutritional Institute; Catherine Dang, MD, Brandman Breast Center; Kristi Funk, MD, Brandman Breast Center; Philomena McAndrew, MD, Hematology/Oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; and Randy Sherman, MD, Reconstructive Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Also this month, West Hollywood's Citychannel 10 on Time Warner Cable will broadcast a special video project about four West Hollywood women who are breast cancer survivors throughout the month.
